Finum Brewing Basket Review: A Favorite Infuser for Brewing Loose Leaf Tea

February 20, 2017
finum stainless steel large brewing basket review

The brewing basket by Finum is hands down one of the best infusers to use for steeping loose leaf tea.

With over sixteen hundred reviews on Amazon and an average 4.6 star rating, the Finum brewing basket is one of the most trusted and widely used steepers.

Its large capacity allows plenty of room for steeping a wide range of teas. Certain types of oolongs, green, and black teas have large leaves that unfurl when they steep in hot water. A tea infuser that allows plenty of room for these leaves to unfurl is the key to brewing a great cup of tea.

Along with its spacious room for leaf expansion, the Finum basket is also built from very fine stainless steel mesh. This makes for an excellent tea infuser to use when brewing certain types of fine teas, such as rooibos and yerba mate.

Not only can the Finum brewing basket be used to brew a wide variety of teas, its small and compact shape allows for a quick and easy cup of tea while at home or at the office.

Teavana Passion Tango Review

January 22, 2017
teavana passion tango loose leaf review

Note: The Teavana Passion Tango has since been discontinued, however a very similar tea is the TAZO Passion Herbal Tea.

Lately I have been drinking a lot of black and green tea variations and was craving something herbal and caffeine free. I had heard about Teavana’s Passion Tango tea and thought it would be right up my alley.

I was looking for a refreshing change from the usual caffeinated teas I had been drinking.

Passion Tango seemed like a good choice: it was herbal, had dried fruit pieces along with lemongrass and blackberry leaves (which are a few of my favorite ingredients I like in flavored tea blends).

Below is a review on Teavana’s Passion Tango where I’ll go into detail and share my thoughts on the tea. Continue Reading

Nespresso Aeroccino Plus Milk Frother Review

December 4, 2016
nespresso aeroccino plus milk frother review

Note: The Nespresso Aeroccino Plus Milk Frother has since been discontinued, however a very similar model is the Nespresso Aeroccino3 Milk Frother.

For a long time I’ve always wanted an automatic milk frother.

I love drinking tea but sometimes there are certain teas I would love to make as a tea latte. There are times when I am having this kind of craving I will go to my nearby tea shop and purchase a tea latte. This satisfies my craving temporarily but I always find this option to be more costly.

Instead I wanted to be able to make tea lattes in the comfort of my own home. I have an endless supply of tea at home, so purchasing a cup of tea at a shop for the sake of having it as a latte makes little sense. Plus I own all my favorite flavors anyways 🙂

After many hours of research I decided to purchase the Aeroccino Plus Milk Frother by Nespresso from Amazon. It’s an automatic milk frother and I liked how it froths milk in about 70 seconds. It prepares a good quantity of delicious froth while having the option to make that froth hot OR cold depending on your drink. This is perfect for hot drinks such as tea lattes, cappuccinos and macchiatos, or cold drinks in the summer like iced tea lattes or iced cappuccinos. It makes this automatic milk frother perfect to use all year round.

high noon tea co review

I was so happy when High Noon Tea Co. contacted me to review a sample of their teas.

I like their mission and what they stand for.

Imagine my surprise when I found out I received not one or two samples of teas …

… But a BOX!

I was so excited I even made a High Noon Tea Co. unboxing video! I think my tea nerdiness may have reached an all time high.

When I opened the box I found four samples of teas to try. Below I’ll share my thoughts on Organic Cederberg Rooibos & Peach, Chocolate Toffee Mocha Pu’erh, WuYi Forest Orchid White, and Louis XIV. Continue Reading

DAVIDsTEA Birthday Cake Review

September 25, 2016
DAVIDsTEA Birthday Cake Review

So it’s a little bit passed my birthday already, but I couldn’t help myself by brewing another cup of DAVIDsTEA Birthday Cake! I had a heavy dinner but was still craving something sweet yet caffeine free for the evening.

Besides, who says you’re only allowed to have birthday cake flavored tea ON your birthday?! I drink this tea all year round!

It had then occurred to me that I’ve had this tea tin filled with delicious tea for months and have yet to write an official review about Birthday Cake (‘official’ being used loosely, because I can ramble on about tea to anyone who has an ear).

Before you know it I had the kettle on, the camera out, and my lineup of tea equipment ready to go for the review. Continue Reading

Old Dutch Cast Iron Teapot Review

August 29, 2016
old dutch dragonfly cast iron teapot in lavender

Note: The Old Dutch Placidity Lavender Teapot has since been discontinued. A similar cast iron teapot is the 3-piece Cuisiland Dragonfly Cast Iron Teapot.

For some time now I’ve always wanted to get my hands on a cast iron teapot. It’s something I’ve been longing to own and add to my ever growing collection of teapots and tea infusers. Originally I wanted the dragonfly cast iron teapot from Teavana but found them to be quite expensive – almost $200!

After doing some research I came across the Old Dutch Placidity Lavender Teapot on Amazon. It was a fraction of the price and at the time cost less than 20 bucks! The Old Dutch dragonfly teapot was much cheaper compared to the Teavana version for an almost identical product. Continue Reading

sterling tea review

I was excited when Sterling Tea contacted me to review one of their teas. Of course the first thing I did was check out their website to see what kind of teas they have.

Right away I was intrigued by their interesting names… Pink Champagne, Mango Peach, Strawberry Hibiscus, and Goji Acai just to name a few.

I wondered which one of their delicious flavors I would receive. Imagine my surprise when I received not one, but three, yummy teas to review!

Below I’ll share my thoughts on ReVive!, Strawberry Hibiscus, and Apricot Oolong. Continue Reading

natural warrior tea gaurdian brew green tea with black teapot and infuser

When I first heard of Natural Warrior Tea I was intrigued by their message of providing high quality organic teas that help to stay energized throughout the day.

Although I like the occasional cup of coffee every now and then, the crashes I get afterwards are always a bummer. So when I heard of Natural Warrior Tea, I was really curious to try one of their teas to see what an energy tea was like.

After browsing around on their website, I could see that they have different teas all providing different types of health benefits.

No matter what type of warrior you are, there is a tea for you! Continue Reading

The Perfect Tea Mug by DAVIDsTEA Review

February 14, 2016
perfect glass tea mug by davidstea review

I really believe there is a must-have item every tea lover should own in order to enjoy the best cup of tea possible…

… A perfect tea mug of course!

The perfect tea mug by DAVIDsTEA is quite possibly one of my favorite mugs to use for tea.

Last December when I was blogging about the 24 Days of Tea Advent Calendar , I used my perfect tea mug every single day for every tea sample that I drank and blogged about.

While I’ll be the first skeptic to judge whether a product is actually perfect, because it rarely ever is, this tea infuser mug comes pretty darn close.

I find they’re one of the easiest ways to enjoy loose leaf tea, and they’re wonderful for a range of different tea lovers. Whether you’re a casual or seasoned tea connoisseur, every tea lover should have at least one perfect tea mug. Continue Reading
