Carry Travel Mug by DAVIDsTEA Review

January 30, 2016
carry travel mug by davids tea

I was looking for a new carry travel mug to purchase since I was overdue for a new one, when I just so happened to be nearby a DAVIDsTEA (and when I say happened, I really mean deliberately).

I am a huge fan of loose leaf tea travel mugs and use them almost every single day.

They’re one of the most convenient ways to enjoy loose leaf tea either at home, at work, on the go, or all three.

As someone who is very active and always on the go, I was searching for a travel mug that would be sturdy and leak proof, while keeping my tea hot. I commute daily and either drive or use public transit, and as such needed something that was easy to hold, especially when my hands were full with packing and unpacking a car, or carrying lots of bags on a cramped subway.

I was quite impressed with the carry travel mug by DAVIDsTEA as it’s a reliable and durable travel mug that looks good and keeps my tea piping hot. Continue Reading

Tea Ball Review: A Tea Lovers Best Friend?

January 18, 2016
mesh tea ball

When it comes to the question of which tea infuser to use in order to make the best cup of tea, there are so many options to choose from. Tea ball infusers, strainers, novelty infusers, travel mugs, to glass teapots. Which do you choose?

There is no one-size-fits-all answer.

Perfect tea mugs are great for enjoying tea at home, teapots are excellent for brewing several servings of tea at once, and travel mug infusers are a must for enjoying loose leaf tea on to go.

What is easily overlooked is an infuser that can be used in a variety of different ways without needing a separate product for each purpose. Wouldn’t it be nice to use one tool to enjoy loose leaf tea at home, at work, or on the go?

A mesh tea ball can achieve just that. Continue Reading

Teavana White Chocolate Peppermint – A Delicious Tea Review

January 3, 2016
teavana white chocolate peppermint

Note: The Teavana White Chocolate Peppermint has since been discontinued, however a similar tea is the Tiesta Tea Cocoa Mint Chill.

Over the holiday season while I was out doing some Christmas shopping, I happened to walk by a Teavana store in the mall. I immediately kept walking as I knew I shouldn’t go inside, since after all, the reason I’m here is to buy Christmas presents for others and not myself, right?

Then I started to have second thoughts.

What if they have a good sale? Is there a new, limited edition holiday tea? What if they have a tea ware that would make a great gift for a friend (or myself)?

I came to the conclusion that I would regret it more if I didn’t go inside to at least check things out. And am I ever glad I did!

I was instantly greeted with a yummy sample of tea, the White Chocolate Peppermint tea by Teavana. I’m usually not a sucker for immediate in-store purchases after a free sample, but this tea was so good I just had to buy more. It was a minty winter wonderland that I knew I needed more of. DAVIDsTEA 24 Days of Tea – 2015 Advent Calendar – Part 4

December 19, 2015
24 days of tea davids tea

We are now on the last stretch of reviewing and blogging the 2015 DAVIDsTEA 24 Days of Tea advent calendar!

I’m really glad I was able to purchase the advent calendar this year as I’ve been able to sample so many new flavours! It’s a great way to try a sample of many flavours at once, instead of having to purchase the teas individually.

As mentioned earlier I’ve also been blogging about the tea reviews every single day. I haven’t reviewed the teas ahead of time or sampled a bunch at once, rather I review each one individually every single day.

You can also skip directly to the 24 Days of Tea list here.

Without further ado, let’s carry on!

DAVIDsTEA 24 Days of Tea – 2015 Advent Calendar – Part 3

December 13, 2015
davidstea 24 days of tea

We are now passed the halfway mark for the 24 Days of Tea advent calendar (insert sad face here).

Since I always try to view things in life with a cup half full approach (ha get it – cup half full?), we still have another 11 more teas to review!

That’s 11 more cups of tea to taste, smell, photograph, write about, and enjoy!

As mentioned before, every single day I review that day’s tea sample. I don’t review the teas ahead of time or review a bunch at once. Otherwise what fun would an advent calendar be?!

Let’s carry on then, shall we?

DAVIDsTEA 24 Days of Tea – 2015 Advent Calendar – Part 1

December 1, 2015
day 1 of 24 days of tea

I’m really excited to write this post because for the first time ever I get to combine two exciting things together…

tea (duh) ….

and advent calendars!

Last year I noticed there was a lot of buzz around the DAVIDsTEA advent calendars. I wasn’t able to purchase one last year, but this year I was fortunate enough to get my paws on one.

I was so excited about the advent tea calendar that I even made a quickie Youtube video … because it deserves a video all on its own!

I’m also excited to try the teas in this advent calendar because I would like to expand my DAVIDsTEA tea collection. Purchasing the calendar provides 24 different sample sized loose leaf tea. It’s a great way to discover new flavours without having to purchase individual sample sizes or bags of loose leaf tea.

Plus the excitement of an advent calendar format makes the process that more fun. If there are flavours I discover and I really like and want more of, I will be more than happy to purchase them in larger quantities.

For anyone who has not purchased the advent calendar but are curious as to what flavours are included and are looking for tea reviews, I will be adding to this post every day. Each day I will open a new sample of the 24 Days of Tea. I will talk about the flavours, aroma, ingredients, and general makeup of the tea. Keep checking this post as it will be updated daily.

Scoop n Slide Infuser Review

November 1, 2015
scoop n slide infuser

It’s been a while since I’ve been inside a DAVIDsTEA and now I remember why.

I spend way too much money in there.

I’ll admit the reason I went recently was to purchase one item, which was a cup of tea, so I could have one of their cool DAVIDsTEA Halloween cups!

What was supposed to be one purchase, turned into me picking up seven items, putting back three (not willingly may I add), and leaving the store with four.  Although it was hard to put back the three items, I left with four really neat products, one of them being the scoop n slide infuser. Glass Teapot Infuser

October 12, 2015
hario glass teapot infuser

The Hario glass teapot infuser is a wonderful teapot made entirely of Japanese glass. It is a lovely teapot for those who enjoy brewing loose leaf tea from a glass pot as opposed to a standard tea kettle. It is an elegant small teapot that can be used to make about two servings of tea. Continue Reading
